Oklahoma City Commercial Director/Photographer
Dustin Schmidt is a talented and accomplished commercial director with extensive experience in both still photography and video direction.
Based in Oklahoma City, he specializes in advertising, commercial, and editorial work. Dustin cut his teeth in the industry as an advertising agency creative director before moving full time into image making. This background prepared him for achieving excellence in all types of productions. He understands the creative process of how images are made, and more importantly, how they are used to market and sell.
As a commercial director, Dustin has an excellent understanding of brand identity and how to communicate it through visual media. His skills and extensive experience in both still photography and video direction give him a unique advantage in the field, allowing him to approach each project with a versatile perspective. He understands the technical aspects of motion direction and lighting and also the creative skills of writing a creative brief, storyboarding, crew management, casting and post production and editing. His knowledge of the full creative pipeline means he can spot problems BEFORE they become an issue and instead can help the client focus on producing the best creative output possible.
Dustin has worked on campaigns for large institutions all across the country as well as countless groups and individuals in more quiet, intimate moments. Dustin spent many years working in the advertising industry and is equipped to handle any kind of challenge. Dustin lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, daughter, and son, and remains enthusiastic about the next assignment!
